Is it precision what I like of my lager?
Is it stale national stereotypes what I like from a piece of advertising?
Twice no.
But sure, I get it: Beck's is a German "vier".
Utterly uninspiring.

Bringing the facts to life
This ad by the private TV channel ITV raises the issue of the cost of alcohol misuse for the National Health Service as an example of the factual and uncompromised information that ITV provides. However, it seems to me that the prevalent message conveyed by this eye-catching close-up image of three pretty girls enjoying their friendship, having fun and willing for more (supposedly after having 'misused' alcohol), is rather one of glorification of alcohol misuse.

Jimmy Bedford 1940-2009
Who would have said that an obituary could become a piece of advertising?
The text is hard to read from my photo, so I've transcribed it below for the convenience of the probably inexistent dedicated reader of my captions:
"When you step into a job at the Jack Daniel Distillery that was once held by Mr. Jack himself, you've obviously got a lot to live up to. Jimmy Bedford met that challenge during his 20 years as only our sixth Master Distiller since 1886. When he passed away this August, we lost not only a respected colleague and dedicated whiskey maker, most importantly, we lost a dear friend."
